It made money for Boston Dana Farber Cancer Institute for children (The Jimmy Fund).

Emack & Bolio’s donated $10,000 to the Jimmy Fund's now famous Cow Parade program and in return, received a large, life-sized cow to decorate anyway they saw fit. The cow has been dubbed the E&B “Cosmic Cow" by founder Bob Rook, official artist in residence, Mike Cucurullo, and the Jimmy Fund. Decked out in banana dreadlocks, with painted fruits adorning it, the cow is done up Emack style and it took over two months to paint her at E&B's Brookline shop. In late June of 2006, Cosmic Cow was moved to the garden in front of E&B's Newbury Street location but was stolen within hours. Purloined sirloin? A bovine crime? Shocking! Cosmic Cow was eventually recovered and was hastily herded back to our Newbury Street shop. After spending a summer of peace and love on Newbury Street, Cosmic Cow was moved back to Brookline to greet the E&B ice cream lovers. Since then, Cosmic Cow has been a highlight of the Jimmy Fund's Cow Parade program and has been featured in local and national newspapers, TV reports, internet blogs and thousands of personal photos. Look for Cosmic Cow to go on tour to visit other E&B shops around New England. It'll be a moooving experience!
